I've started working with this and it looks really nice.
The first run ended up like this:
SharePoint site/farm backup job has completed.

Result:
Time: 14-Jun-2013 12:54:08
Backup Method: FULL
Warnings: 0
Errors: 9
Remarks: Review the attached SharePoint backup log [spbackup.log] for a detailed summary.

The error messages in this post ARE from spbackup.log.
On my first run, I got these errors, particularly 'Aborted due to error in another component.'
What does this mean and what do I do about it??

It does not tell what component.
Furthermore all databases on the SPFoundation server being backed up are in D:\Data and the script seems to be looking for them in C:\??

Thank you, Tom

I also found this in the log:
            *Search Service Application\
                [http]\
                [https]\
                *Search_Service_Application_DB_a0fb105434754fa88106cbebd998e836\
                    *[Admin (C: on dspnet)]\
                *[Search_Service_Application_CrawlStore_DB]\
                    *[Crawl-1 (C: on dspnet)]\
                *[Search_Service_Application_PropertyStore_DB]\
                    *[Index Partition 0]\
                        *[Query-0 (C: on dspnet)]\
What, why is it looking in C:\?????????

Also this:

[6/14/2013 12:51:37 PM] FatalError: Backup failed for Object Query-0 (C: on dspnet) failed in event OnBackup. For more information, see the spbackup.log or sprestore.log file located in the backup directory.

Again, this all comes from the spserver.log attached to the notification email.

OH!! Could all thie be happening because this particular SPF Server is not using the standard SPF Search?? It is actually using Search Server Express...and the SPF SharePoint Search stuff is not turned on...

Thank you, Tom

Hi Tom

Can you search in the spbackup.log for an operating system Error 5

Thanks Darren

These are the only log files I can find. Neither mentions this error. “Merged” unzips to 6 megs!! – I searched this for “operating” and found none. Thank you, Tom

Note: I answered the email and attached things to it. Did not know they would not be saved to here. The above-mentioned search produced no results from spserver.log and MergedLog-14062013124823.log, which contains even more data.

Hi Guyz,

I'm having the same issue.
Everything is working except backuping the search component.
Precision, i'm running the script on a SP 2013 farm.

If you have any info about this :)

Regards,

O.P
